Delhi Capitals' dashing batsman Shikhar Dhawan feels thinking positive will be key as his emotionally and physically charged team gears up for the forthcoming IPL edition in the UAE.
Speaking on the sidelines of Delhi Capitals' first net session at the ICC Academy following the five-month break, Dhawan said from an emotional perspective it was nice to meet up with the teammates after the long break en route from Delhi to the UAE.

"Emotionally it was great to meet up with the team after many months. There was nice energy, it was a good start.
"When we met in the bus after six-month, we were all very happy to meet each other. Seeing the DTC bus, the stickers on the bus it gave a nice feeling. The players were listening to music, it felt nice to get the feel of returning to our routine. Slowly we will be refining it.
"Physically, each one has his own experiences, but for me after being confined inside the AC room for six days, here(on field) the temperature is more hot so there is the feeling of heaviness."
Dhawan though was confident that the players will acclimatise to the conditions and overcome in it two to four days.
"In three to four days everyone will get used to it. The sharpness and quickness will return. Good thing is that we have enough of time to prepare for that and we are looking forward to the tournament."
Stressing on the mental preparation, Dhawan said: "It is important to think positive, we shouldn't think that we are here after a long time, we have to think one step ahead, we need to think we are playing good cricket.
"That will create a sort of energy, if we think that way it will help us and I am confident that we will do well in this tournament. We have a really strong side," Dhawan concluded.
