Sabina Arulraj is the inspiration behind Aappa Kadai Restaurant. She has ideas when it comes to making it one of the best South Indian restaurants in the emirates. Founded in 2001, she says she learnt the art of making Aappam from her mother, who diligently used to serve it to guests. Sabina has simply graduated the idea of serving hot aappams from pan to the plate along with sizzling spicy curries.
The speciality of aappam is that it could be cooked and served both with vegetarian and non-vegetarian ingredients. Some of them are: Aappams, mango fish curry, chettinad biryani, Hyderabadi biryani, chicken lollypop, spicy garlic curry and spicy brinjal curry.
The dish is quite in demand on festive occasions, especially Diwali, as people love to serve it to guests as a special item. Its presentation too is quite generous, and makes for a tasty, mouth-watering meal. Sabina says, "We serve complimentary special Diwali sweets to all our customers on the day of Diwali and our ambience is filled with the spirit of the festival of lights." This season Aappa Kadai plans some special features for its valuable customers, and Sabina says it is a well-kept secret till the day of Diwali.
