A shocking surveillance footage from inside an elevator in China captures the moment a woman is almost crushed by a faulty lift.
According to Metro.co.uk, the footage shows two women standing inside an elevator with one of them holding a plate of food. Both appear to be confused when the lift on the ground floor does not move.
That's when the woman holding a food plate steps out to check but the lift starts to move with doors still open.
In a split second, the woman manages to jump through the shrinking gap when the lift starts moving. A loud crashing sound follows, presumably of the food plate dropping out of the woman's hands when she falls on the floor. The shocking moment was captured on a security camera inside the lift.

The footage then shows the second woman baffled at the malfunction while the lift continues to move, passing other floors with its doors still open.
It is not known if the malfunction is being investigated. Chinese media reported the incident took place on August 11 but the exact location is not known.
