A Saudi man saved the life of a 60-year-old Turkish pilgrim in Madinah by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation shortly after he fell unconscious.
Fahd Ghuwaizi Al Harbi is a specialized nurse and works as a hotel receptionist at a Madinah hotel.
The CCTV footage shows the man sitting on a chair when he suddenly passes out and falls off on the floor while Al Harbi frantically tries to resuscitate him.
"I immediately rushed to save the pilgrim and provide first aid, before the Red Crescent team arrived to the site, and within just two minutes, the pilgrim regained consciousness after several resuscitation attempts," Al Harbi was quoted as saying in Al Arabiya.
The Turkish man who had hypertension and diabetes was taken to a hospital for further treatment and was discharged later.
Al Harbi holds a diploma in nursing and has also been awarded certificates proving his excellence in the field and practiced nursing in some private hospitals earlier. He has carried several volunteering emergency services during Haj season and Ramadan.
"We need to represent an honourable image for serving Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia," said Al Harbi who also visited the Turkish man at the hospital after completing his duty.
