Abu Bakr Salem, a famous Saudi singer has passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 78. His classic Arabic songs are widely known by the people of the Arab Gulf states.
HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council said on Twitter -"His voice was a part of the deep Khaleeji culture, and it carried the sorrow of the whole civilization of Yemen, Gulf States and the Arab countries. He added that the people love his voice, and it will always be a part of their memories. May god's mercy fall upon the artist Abu Bakr Salem."
He was born on March 17, 1939 in Yemen where he learned to sing, and then he moved to live in Saudi Arabia, to begin his career as a singer and travelled to many Arab capitals such as Beirut and Cairo.
