Saudi bride, family members die in horrific crash on way to wedding

Riyadh - The family was on their way to the wedding celebrations

 In a horrific tragedy, an 18-year-old Saudi bride - who was on way to her wedding - was killed after the vehicle she was travelling in crashed. Several family members, who were accompanying the bride, also died in the accident which took place in Al Mahd governorate on Monday, according to a report in Al Riyadh newspaper.
Saudi Red Crescent spokesman Khaled Al Sahli was quoted as saying that a team of first responders swung into action and reached the site immediately after they got a call informing them about the accident.
Social media was flooded with condolences for the bride and the deceased. While mourning the deaths, the Netizens raised a wave of worry over the spike in traffic accidents in the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia witnesses a car accident every minute on an average, indicate recent statistics. Over 460,000 crashes take place in the country every year.
Over 7,000 road fatalities involving cars happened in 2017.
