Two Emiratis were rescued after their SUV got stuck in the sand along the Saudi border on Monday morning.
The last time they were in contact with others was on Wednesday. A notification was given to the Saudi Arabian Border Guards on Sunday.
By early Monday morning, the guards had posted images of the vehicle and its found owners on their official Twitter handle along with a statement.
The text reads: "The official spokesperson for the border guards revealed that two Emiratis were rescued after their vehicle got stuck in the Rub' Al Khali area on Monday morning.
"The Dammam Medical Rescue and Coordination Centre (DMRCC) had received a notification on Sunday that an Emirati man had last been seen and heard from on Wednesday after he passed through an area nearly 68 kilometres south of the Shubaita Centre in Rub' Al Khali.
"With the help of the Saudi General Security Aviation Command, patrols were able to locate the Emirati man who was with another Emirati friend of his who had accompanied him on his trip. They were both on foot.
"They were given the proper medical attention and their vehicle extracted from the sand. After ensuring their safety, they were able to resume their travels."
