Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince received an effusive welcome on Tuesday at the White House from US President Donald Trump. Trump hailed a "great friendship" with the Kingdom, but made no public mention of the sticking points in the burgeoning alliance.
"It is an honour to have the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia with us," said the American President, as the pair prepared to have lunch in the Cabinet Room.
According to Arab News, this particular lunch had seen the attendance of delegations from both the countries and the menu comprising a light and nutritious meal.
The menu was composed of a rich carrot consummé with orange blossoms along with feta cheese and chives bruschetta, which was served as a starter.
The main course served to the Crown Prince had a halibut fillet with roasted cauliflower Swiss chard. This was served with crushed sumac and topped with some mint butter.
The 'cherry on the cake' was the dessert - the fig tart and sesame ice cream - served to the leaders.
