The employee will be allowed to work in the private sector outside working hours of government offices.

Soon, Saudi government employees may be allowed to work part-time in private sector and engage in personal business.

The proposed amendment in Article 13 of the Civil Service Regulation has been approved and will be presented for discussion next Monday in the Shoura (Consulative) Council.

The report on the proposed amendment has been referred to the Shoura Council by the Experts Commission in the Council of Ministers, Saudi Gazette quoted Al Riyadh reports.

The proposal specifies allowing certain categories of employees to work in private sector, engage in trade, be members of the boards of directors or allow them any other work in companies, and allow them to work in shops.

According to the bylaw, a government employee will be allowed to work in the private sector outside working hours of government offices, the report added.
