The first flight of pilgrims of the Makkah Road Initiative will start tomorrow coming from the initiative's airports in Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
This came in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency by the Head of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Special Delegation and Director General of Passports, Major General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, pointing out that the initiative comes within the Doyof Al Rahman Program, which was developed and adopted by the Kingdom's leadership as one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs.

It aims to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims and Umrah performers, enhance the efforts of governmental bodies in serving pilgrims and giving the opportunity for the largest number of pilgrims to perform their rituals at comfort and ease.
Major General Al-Yahya expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for the keenness and care given to the two Holy Mosques, pilgrims, visitors and Umrah performers.
He added that the Makkah Road Initiative is being followed directly by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee contributing to the rapid achievement of its objectives, which is evident from the increasing interest of Islamic countries to join the Initiative.
This year, three countries have joined the initiative, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Tunisia, thus, joining Malaysia and Indonesia whose pilgrims have benefited from the facilitations being offered by the initiative over the past two years.
