A teacher can change one's life, but this coach from Saudi Arabia has given his student a new life by donating one of his kidneys.
Fahad Al-Gharbi, coach of the Jubbah youth football club - a third division club in the Saudi league, did not think twice while donating a kidney to save the life of Youssef Al-Shammari.
A footballer at the youth club, Shammari suffered kidney failure which forced him to quit training. Al-Gharbi did not want his student to give up football and thus went ahead with donating his kidney.
The coach's rare act of kindness, is being praised by netizens on social media as well as Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), who took note of the Al-Gharbi's humble act.
Prince Abdul Aziz wrote on Twitter: 'What the coach of the Jubbah youth football team, Captain Fahad Al-Gharbi, has done through donating a kidney to a player in his team is a humane and noble move . I ask God to reward him for his deed and I thank him for his humane attitude, which does not surprise me'.
In order to encourage youth to participate in sports, the GSA established the Mass Participation Federation in line with Vision 2030, according to reports in Arab News.
