Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court has called on all residents in the Kingdom to sight the crescent of the Islamic calendar month of Shawwal on Thursday evening to report it to the nearest court.

The Supreme Court said in its announcement that whoever sees the crescent by the naked eye or via binoculars to report to the nearest court and register their testimony or report to the nearest centre to facilitate their reaching to a court, reports Al Arabiya.

The court also called on those interested to join the sighting committees that are in different locations.
