Qatar must stop support to terror: UAE to UN court

The UAE on Thursday called on Doha to stop "supporting terrorist groups and individuals" and strongly denied rights violations against Qatari citizens before the UN's top court.
"Our government has asked Qatar time-and-again to cease this conduct," the UAE's ambassador to the Netherlands, Saeed Alnowais, told the International Court of Justice.
"Although Qatar repeatedly committed to do so, it has failed to live up to its commitments," Alnowais said at the Hague-based ICJ.
The UAE maintains that Qatar's claims are baseless and without merit. Qatar has falsely alleged that the measures taken by the UAE against Qatar since June 5, 2017, breach the UAE's commitments under the International Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination (the Convention). Qatar's claims represent its continued efforts to distract attention from its support for terrorism, its promotion of hatred and violence, and its interference in the affairs of other sovereign States, a Wam report said.
The UAE is in full compliance with the Convention, and presented evidence to the ICJ that unequivocally refutes all the allegations made by Qatar.
Abu Dhabi has not implemented any measures for the expulsion or deportation of Qatari nationals based on their nationality, according to Wam.
