Tyre burst shuts down Omans Salalah airport, all flights cancelled

Dubai - A total of six flights have been affected.

Oman's Salalah International Airport has cancelled all flights for a few hours.
According to a tweet by Oman Airport, an aircraft had suffered a tyre burst upon landing.
"Following an earlier incident that occurred on the afternoon of March 10 at Salalah Airport, where a tyre burst occurred on one of the operating aircraft to Salalah airport on landing, Salalah airport will remain closed until midnight on March 10," the airport said in a statement on Twitter.
The Gulf country's national carrier said in a tweet that all of its flights to and from Salalah have been cancelled due to closure of the airport.

"Due to the closure of Salalah International Airport for technical reasons, we would like to bring to the notice of our valued guests that all flights from/to Salalah are cancelled until further notice," Oman Air tweeted.
All the passengers have been advised to contact its city office or call centre at +96824531111.

The airport handles two million passengers per annum.
