Cyclone Kyarr: Cracks appear in popular Oman corniche by huge waves

In the aftermath of Cyclone Kyarr, Oman's south coast on Tuesday morning experienced rains, winds and massive waves that caused extensive damage in the Muttrah Corniche.
An Instagram video shows a huge wave hitting people at Muttrah Corniche and flooding the street in seconds. A concerned citizen notified Muscat Municipality about the damage via social media and urged the Muttrah Corniche be repaired.
The social media user named, Nasr Albusaidi, wrote to the municipality: "To brothers in Muscat Municipality, this move and vibration of the surface in Muttrah Corniche due to waves of tropical cyclone Kyarr worrying and dangerous and had to remedy it before it collapsed and hurt passers on it."
The Muscat Municipality promptly replied: "Thank you Nasr and your feedback is appreciated and will be dealt with by reference to specialists in the Municipality of Muscat and will be done the necessary."

The municipality added that its specialists will look into rectifying any and all damage caused by Cyclone Kyarr, reported Times of Oman.

A rare tropical cyclone, it is said to be the strongest storm recorded in the Arabian Sea in 12 years after it reached the intensity of a Category 4 hurricane. Tropical Cyclone Kyarr reached peak strength in the past two days, with winds of around 250kmph (155mph), reported CNN.
