Legal cases that Qatar filed against UAE will be suspended in light of recently restored diplomatic relations between the GCC countries, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Gargash said.

“With two parties reconciling, it is natural that legal cases will also be dropped,” he said, speaking in a virtual briefing to the media on Thursday.

He said the legal cases did not achieve any results, except keeping the UAE busy.

Dr Gargash said he expects that the GCC “will go back to its full vitality” on the diplomatic front.

“GCC has been successful on the political and security front at the minimum. It has been more successful on the diplomatic front, because the GCC has been one of the most successful Arab regional grouping."
