Saudi Arabian sources denied rumours that there were two time periods during which pilgrims could make reservations for Umrah; the first for the period (from 1-18 Ramadan) starting from 15 Sha'ban, and the second for the period (from 19-30 Ramadan) on the 15th of Ramadan.

According to Al Bayan, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah warned those who received the Umrah permit from the Eatmarna app against letting another person use it to perform Umrah instead of them. They stressed that this was illegal and against the terms of use of both the Eatmarna and Tawakkalnah Umrah apps.

The Ministry also clarified that the Tawakkalna app was not meant for Umrah booking. Rather, bookings must be made on the Eatmarna app, which will then be reflected in the Tawakkalna app.

They also explained that reservations were currently open to citizens, residents and visitors until the end of March and that vaccinations were not required when requesting an Umrah permit.

For more information, the ministry has urged the public to get in touch by calling the Ministry's Beneficiary Services Center at the toll-free number (8004304444).
