Students of private schools in Ajman can opt for remote learning on Fridays during Ramadan.

The emirate's media office said on Friday that the move aims to strengthen family bonding during the holy month which will likely start on March 1.

Students whose test schedules have been approved on Fridays will be exempted from this, as these tests will be held face-to-face according to the approved schedules, said Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hashmi, Executive Director of the Office of Special Education Affairs in Ajman.

The decision was taken under the directives of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council.

On February 27, Dubai has taken a similar decision, as it was announced that private school studens can opt for distance learning on Fridays during Ramadan.

Remote working

In Ajman, all government employees will also work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan.

The official working hours during Ramadan will be from 9am to 2.30pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 9pm to 12pm on Fridays, according to a circular issued by the Department of Human Resources of the Ajman Government.

Government entities have flexibility in implementing the remote work policy in line with regulations, ensuring business continuity and uninterrupted service delivery.
