Marking Ramadan as the Month of the Quran, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has unveiled a series of Quranic initiatives and religious programmes to deepen spiritual reflection and strengthen family bonds across the UAE.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the Authority, announced that for the first time, Friday sermons throughout Ramadan will centre on reflective moments drawn from chapters of the Holy Quran, encouraging worshippers to engage in deeper contemplation.
Among the flagship initiatives is the 'Emirati Voices Mushaf', which will be broadcast on radio stations across the country, showcasing Quranic recitations in Emirati voices.

The Authority also launched the 'Family Completion Initiative Loyalty and Devotion', encouraging each household to complete a full Quran recitation dedicated to the UAEs founding rulers. The programme aims to achieve around 6,000 full family completions during the holy month.
In addition, 90,000 copies of the Holy Quran will be distributed at the expense of the President to mosques, strategic partners, and members of the public throughout Ramadan.

Religious programmes across the emirates
The Ramadan agenda includes a wide range of educational and scholarly activities. The 'Bil Hikmah' programme will deliver 30 educational lessons focusing on spiritual guidance and ethical values.
Specialised 'Scientific Chairs' will also be held in selected grand mosques in Abu Dhabi, offering in-depth interpretations of Quranic chapters delivered by scholars.
Several key forums are scheduled this Ramadan, including the forum marking “30 Years of the Unified Friday Sermon”, held in conjunction with Zayed Humanitarian Day under the theme:
“The UAE Pulpit: A Forward-Looking Vision for the Voice of Wisdom and a Message of Tolerance and Mercy.”
The event commemorates the legacy of the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reaffirms the UAE’s commitment to moderation and tolerance.
Other initiatives include the “Minarets of Al Ain” forum, highlighting historic mosques such as Al Nattalah Mosque in Al Ain Oasis, the specialised “Domes Forum”, and the family-focused seminar series “Our Home is One”.
Extensive awareness publications
On the educational front, Al Darei revealed that the Authority printed and circulated several awareness publications this year.
These include “Guidance and Clear Signs”, featuring jurisprudential lessons delivered after Asr prayer in mosques nationwide, totaling 40,456 lessons, and “Ramadan Reflections”, delivered before Taraweeh prayers, totaling 40,456 reflections.
In addition, a range of electronic religious publications has been made available to the public, including Fasting is a Shield, Fasting: Values and Elevation, The Quran: Guidance and Light, and Zakat: Purification and Growth.
