Prior to the start of Ramadan, changes across different facets take place in the UAE. From toll gate operation timings and employee working hours to remote learning for students and park timings, there were some new changes introduced this year.

When it comes to road-related changes during ramadan, authorities have also reminded motorists of traffic accidents increasing during the holy month, particularly during pre-Iftar hours. Drivers have been advised to be extra careful during this time.
Here is a guide to all the changes to paid parking systems in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi.
Dubai
In Dubai, paid parking hours have been split across two periods from Monday to Saturday to take into consideration the needs of motorists during the holy month.
Parking charges will be applied from 8am to 6pm in the first period and from 8pm to 12am in the second period as per an announcement by the Roads and Transport Authority of the city.
Parking will be free between 6pm and 8pm during these days and free for the entire day on Sunday.
Meanwhile, multi-level parking buildings are set to operate 24/7.
Sharjah
Sharjah has announced extended paid public parking timings across the emirate during the month of Ramadan.
Motorists will be charged for parking from 8am until midnight. This is two hours more compared to the usual 8am to 10pm paid period during other months of the year.
Parking will remain free on Friday as per usual.
Ajman
Ajman has also split its paid public parking hours into two periods during the month of Ramadan from Saturday to Thursday.
Motorists will have to pay parking fee from 9am to 1pm during the morning and from 8pm to 12pm in the evening during these days.
The duration between 1pm and 8pm will be free of charge.
Abu Dhabi
Meanwhile, paid parking hours in Abu Dhabi remain unchanged during the holy month, with the Mawaqif timings being from 8am to 12pm across the emirate.
Toll gate hours — also known as Darb — on the other hand, will change during the holy month.
Between Monday and Saturday, motorists will be charged during morning peak hours which are from 8am to 10am. During evening peak hours, motorists will be charged from 2pm to 4pm.
On Sunday, the toll gate system remains free of charge.
