An astronomer has revealed when the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin in the UAE.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, expects the holy month to begin on April 13, based on astronomical calculations.

Ramadan is expected to last for 30 days and Eid Al Fitr is predicted to fall on May 13.
He said the preceding month, Shaaban, will begin on Monday, March 15. It is expected to last 29 days.
According to the official list of public- and private-sector holidays for 2021, residents will enjoy a five-day break (Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3) for Eid.
Meanwhile, Ramadan tents permits have been cancelled in Dubai and Ajman.
