New guidelines for Fujairah eateries, hotels in Ramadan

Fujairah - All preventive measures need to be stringently observed, it was pointed out.

The emirate of Fujairah has issued a new protocol for eateries and hotels in the holy month of Ramadan to ensure public health and curb the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Mohamed Saif Al Afkham, director-general of the Fujairah Municipality, said: "All food institutions, restaurants and hotels operating in the emirate need to strictly adhere to these rules."

"Open buffets and mass Iftars are strictly banned in hotels and restaurants."

All preventive measures need to be stringently observed, he pointed out.

"Staff safety has to be ensured with full attention to physical distancing, mainly when delivering orders."

Deliveries are allowed up to 4am, he said.

"All staffers of eateries and hotels need to stick to the health instructions."

"Wearing masks and gloves is a must for all staff, while hand sanitisers should be used all the time to avoid any contraction of viruses or disease."
