Ramadan 2020: Cannons are ready, but you can catch the action only on TV

Families, however, will not be allowed to gather near the cannons, and can enjoy the event online.
Four Ramadan cannons have been prepared in four different locations across the emirate, the Dubai Police have said. These locations are: Al Khawaneej, Atlantis the Palm, Burj Khalifa and the praying area in Al Mankhool.
Major Abdullah Tarish Al Amimi, commander of the artillery shooting team at the general department of protective security and emergency, said that all locations are ready to carry out the launching of traditional Ramadan cannons, which people in Dubai wait for during the holy month.
He said that the Dubai Police strive to keep the key tradition alive, as it reminds people of the time they can end their fast for the day.
Ramadan cannons are a treat to watch, attracting hordes of families and visitors. However, due to the current precautionary measures to contain Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, people will be able to watch the launching of Ramadan cannons only on TV, as they won't be allowed to gather at the locations.
