Australia first country to announce May 6 as start of Ramadan

Australia has confirmed that Monday (May 6) will be the first day of Ramadan in the country.

According to a statement released by the Australia National Imams Council, after extensive consultations with Islamic leaders across Australia, the Grand Mufti of the country, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamad and the Australian National Imams Council declared May 6 as the first day of Ramadan there.
