The UAE has introduced sweeping reforms to its visa regulations in the past years to boost economy.
The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, while chairing the first Cabinet meeting of the year on Monday.
Sheikh Mohammed said the first- of-its-kind visa is aimed at establishing the UAE as a major ‘global tourism destination’ and preparing the country for the next 50 years. At present, he said, the nation welcomes about 21 million visitors each year.
The UAE has introduced sweeping reforms to its visa regulations in the past years to boost economy, help investors, entrepreneurs, qualified individuals and families. A look at five recent UAE visa initiatives you need to know:
10-year Golden Residence Permit visa for investors with a deposit, an established company, business partnership of Dh10 million or more.
Five-year long-term visa for qualified individuals like scientists and entrepreneurs.
One-year residency visa extension for women without the need for a sponsor after the death of spouse or divorce.
Renewal of visit visa for a month without the need to leave the country.
One-year residency visa that can be renewed for another year for children finishing high school or those turning 18 years of age.
