Brightening up the mood of this year's quiet and peaceful Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr decorations light up the streets around the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.
The special occasion is expected to fall either on May 23 or May 24 depending on the sighting of the moon. The first day of Eid Al Fitr will be announced on Friday night, after the moon-sighting committee meets remotely. If the crescent is sighted, the following day will be the first of Shawwal, marking the Eid Al Fitr festival.
With Eid around the corner, mosques across the UAE will remain closed and the Takbeer, which is chanted before the special prayers performed on Eid, will be broadcast from mosques 10 minutes before the prayer time.
