Sushant Singh case: Rhea Chakraborty and brother being questioned by ED
The questioning of actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty is underway at the Enforcement Directorate office in Mumbai in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The agency had on July 31 registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in the case after an FIR was filed by KK Singh, the late actor’s father, against Rhea in Bihar on July 28. Singh had alleged that Rhea had misappropriated Sushant’s money and needs to be questioned on the same. The reports say that Rs 15 crore was withdrawn or transferred from Sushant’s Kotak Mahindra Bank account holding Rs 17 crore.
The ED has registered the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also registered a case against Rhea Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, Shruti Modi, and others in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
Rhea and her family are being questioned reportedly on their money transactions with the late actor. The actress is also being grilled on the properties she owns and the bank loans she has availed for the same. They are looking particularly into two properties owned by Rhea and her family. Regarding the Khar (East) flat that is in her name, Rhea has told the ED officials that she took a housing loan for Rs60 lakh and the rest of the amount, around Rs25 lakh, has been paid through her own income.
