Love taking trips? Love independent cinema? Combine the two this summer at Dubai’s Cinema Akil as it looks to book you on a voyage of discovery via the big screen. Cinema Akil Traveller will run from June 26 and will provide a summer-long series of timeless classics and contemporary favourites celebrating the joy of travel. In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and Front Row Filmed Entertainment, the programme kicks off in Italy through a series of four films starting with Frederico Fellini classic masterpiece La Dolce Vita (1960) and Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty). All screenings taking place at Cinema Akil will be ticketed. Tickets are available for sale on the website www.cinemaakil.com.

Fancy a Corona era exhibition you can browse at home? Online channel, Selfie TV, is putting on a photography show: ‘View from my window’.  The collection includes images submitted from 66 photographers from around the world. The countries represented in the show include: Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan, Sudan, Singapore and the UAE.The photographs are weaved together in a 4min 30sec video format with original poetry added to make the experience more engaging. The clip will be posted on Saturday on www.selfietv.co and on YouTube channel: @selfie Tv.
