Tiger Shroff: The young actor is known for his dancing and action skills. But during the lockdown he decided to try his hand at singing and released his debut track, ‘Unbelievable’, in September. He called it “his most challenging yet fulfilling experience.” He said in a press statement, “I’ve always wanted to sing and dance to my own music, and I finally got the chance to do it. I’m so excited to kickstart this journey - there’s so much to learn and explore”. He recently announced that he will release an acoustic version of the song.
Ayushmann Khurrana: He’s known equally for his quirky, offbeat roles as he is for his music, with songs like ‘Pani Da Rang’ from ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Sadi Gali’ from ‘Nautanki Saala’ winning the hearts of fans. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his first song ‘Pani Da Rang’. In April he shared a video of himself singing ‘the perfect lockdown song’ - ‘Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho’ - from his film ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’.
Priyanka Chopra: This beauty won hearts in both Bollywood and Hollywood but her talent doesn’t stop there, she made her singing debut with a Tamil song ‘Ullathai Killathe’ from her debut film ‘Thamizhan’. She debuted as an international singer with the single ‘In My City’. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I love music; I grew up with it thanks to my father, who loves to sing. We woke up every morning to music. I knew how to sing before I knew how to read.”
Farhan Akhtar: He has many aces up his sleeve, including filmmaking and acting but one of Farhan’s great loves is music. He made his acting and singing debut with ‘Rock On’ back in 2008, the music of which continues to be popular. In 2019 he released his first independent album ‘Echoes’. He said at the time, “An artist needs to be at a point where he or she feels that the work can be shared with the world. To me, this felt like the right time for 'Echoes'.”
Madhuri Dixit: There are some Bollywood actors who are always trying new things and Madhuri Dixit is one of them. She released her debut single ‘Candle’ on May 23, revealing her musical side. “Music and singing has been a part of my life because of my mother. She is a Hindustani vocal classical singer and she's done an M.A. in music, so we used to go to all her musical programmes and I've always heard her sing. Singing, dancing, and all kinds of arts were always encouraged in my house by my parents and that's why we all love music and I want my kids to be the same way,” she told City Times in an interview.
