What happened to common people in these unreal times?

The new fad is in.
Surrogacy has made things so much simpler.
Parents to-be, your presence is not required. What's necessary is cash. Everything boils down to the plentiful availability of that necessary element. That, and the status within society, of course. The higher the level of influence, the easier it gets.
All one has to do is, wait for the stork to deliver. IVF, adoption, fertility treatments, fostering of a child, even the institution of marriage is on its way out. These are the dinosaurs of the twenty first century.
For the ones who have been there, done that and gone through the whole deal that comes packaged with sleepless nights, teary days and timeless days in limbo, take note - you are all fools, fools to have been taken in by all the sentimental hodge-podge.
The absence of a biological heir to the families' genealogical line is another oft-repeated statement and the ultimate not-to-be-missed double-edged sword.
Make a note GenX, and grab fistfuls of the element in plenty to satisfy the hardliners. Plan your way through dearies, and your choice will be delivered. White skin, blonde hair, button nose, dimpled smile, the choice is yours to make. Tune into the fine print, add in a few extra options and voila, you are done.
It is as simple as that. The fools who have made a hash of things, myself included, are already regretting at not having had the foresight to join the rosy path. Ah, the times we live in!
