Video: Child saved by a whisker after alert truck driver slams brakes

The shocking video was captured on another vehicle's dashcam.

A shocking video footage showing a child running across a road in Norway and narrowly escaping death when a speeding truck brakes in time has gone viral. The heart-stopping moment was recorded on a driver's dashcam who was on the opposite side of the road.
The video shows five school children alighting their bus when suddenly one of them runs across the road, not noticing the speeding truck on the other side. Another child is seen following the first one but notices the speeding truck and backtracks to safety. The first child, who appears to be younger than the others, averts a serious accident when in the split-second he changes course and starts running straight ahead, away from the truck.
The truck driver quickly hits the brakes just in time and the child escapes unhurt.
According to Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation reports quoted by NDTV, the incident took place in June but the video was posted by the owner on LiveLeak only recently to warn pedestrians of potential danger while crossing roads. The footage has since gone viral. Nobody was reported hurt in the incident.
