Newly married woman commits suicide over being 'beautiful'

The husband suspected Sushmita of having an affair prior to marriage.

Tired of the continuous harassment by her husband over her 'good looks' and dowry demand by in-laws, a newly-wed woman committed suicide in India's Hyderabad.
According to reports in Siasat.com, the 19-year-old woman identified as Sushmita got married to one Vijayender only five months ago. It is believed that the husband suspected Sushmita of having an affair prior to the marriage and harassed her to disclose the man's contact number.  
When her husband's suspicious nature and her in-laws' dowry demands became unbearable, the young woman hanged herself in the house.
According to police report, the deceased bride's parents alleged they gave gold, Rs3 lakh in cash, a plot of 150 sq yards and other domestic articles in dowry already. The matter is being investigated.
In another suicide case from Hyderabad, a 24-year-old bridegroom hanged himself at his wedding venue on Sunday. The deceased man identified as N. Sai Sandeep was an engineering graduate and killed himself hours before his wedding, reported Deccan Chronicle.
