A British man's romantic candle-lit wedding proposal plan went horribly wrong when the hundreds of tea light candles ended up burning down his apartment.
The man had left to fetch his fiancée while his house was decked up with hundreds of tea-light candles, balloons and wine poured out in glasses. However, when the man returned with his fiancée, he found his apartment on fire and three fire engines on the way.
In a witty post, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue tweeted the entire incident on Twitter, narrating how the romantic wedding proposal went up in flames, literally.  The South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue wrote on Twitter that as the man went "round the corner to collect his fiancée-to-be, ready for the romantic moment, he came back to find the flat on fire and three fire engines on the way!"

The fire department shared photos of the scene, writing: "Look closely at these photos and you'll see lots of burnt out tea lights. Hundreds of them."
They stated that although the man's house was gutted, there were no injuries reported, and the bright side was the man's fiancée said yes. The department also warned people to use candles with caution and not leave them unattended, reported NDTV.
