Man buys old safe for Dh1,800, finds Dh27 million inside

London - Two people were needed to crack the old safe open.

A man was stunned to discover $7.5million (Dh27 million approx) hidden in treasure box which he bought for only $500 (Dh1,800 approx).
Storage Wars star, Dan Dotson, turned out to be one lucky auction buyer and took to Twitter to reveal how a woman came to him informing him about a unit a man she knew had bought from him.
"An older Asian woman at the table next to me kept looking at me like she wanted to tell me something.
"She walked up and told me her husband works with a guy who bought a unit from me for $500 had found a safe inside," Mirror.uk quoted Dotson as saying.
Narrating the moments when they opened the safe, Dotson said, "The first person they called to open it I guess couldn't or didn't. They called the second person, and when that person opened it up... inside the safe - they're normally empty - but this time it wasn't empty. It had $7.5million cash inside."
Dotson also speculated as to why the original owner of the safe had left the money inside.
"The money inside of a unit, I don't think you'd forget it but maybe you were just in a position where somebody else was in charge of it, I don't know," Dotson said.
His wife Laura added, "Credit card went bad, it was finished, they moved away, perhaps the person went to jail - who knows what it was."
Whatever be the reason for the treasure box owners to leave a massive amount just like that, the incident certainly proved one man's loss is another's gain, literally.
