Websites advertising the illegal sale of dangerous pets and exotic animals have been flagged by residents, prompting the authorities to take action.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment affirmed that it is currently working on an initiative that warns residents against such dangerous practices, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
Among the dangerous animals are lions, poisonous snakes, tigers, cheetahs, foxes and rare dogs. They can cost anywhere from Dh3,000 up to Dh10,000.

Violators will face prison time and a fine of no less than Dh50,000 and up to Dh500,000.
Harbouring, breeding, owning and sharing dangerous animals - except for in designated facilities - is illegal. Such facilities include natural preserves, zoos, animal parks, circus, breeding centres, and wildlife refugee areas. 
A wild rottweiler was on sale for Dh3,500, while several pythons were up for grabs at Dh3,000.
A tiger anthrax reticulated python cost Dh10,500 imported from the US, and it was advertised that it can be delivered straight to your door. 
A group of cheetahs, lion cubs, and snow foxes were on sale for Dh5,000 each.
