The flight's pilot had heard a loud sound when the plane began its descent.

Evacuation slide fell off from a Delta Air Lines flight 405 en route to Boston from Paris, and landed straight in the backyard of a house.

A photo shared on Twitter by Breaking Aviation News shows the deflated emergency landing slide laying on the grass, reported Global News. A police officer can be seen speaking to two people, presumably those who live in the house where the slide landed.

It is reported that the flight's pilot had heard a loud sound when the plane began its descent at Boston's Logan Airport. According to a Milton resident, Stephanie Leguia, the slide was so heavy it brought down multiple tree branches. "If it had hit us, we would have been dead. It's that heavy. And if we didn't die. I hate to think of the alternative," Leguia said.

While another local resident, Amy Caldwell, said she saw the slide falling through the air while driving. "It was way up in the sky. It looked like a trash bag but it was falling," she said.

Once the plane landed in Boston, Delta technicians confirmed the aircraft's slide was missing. In a statement, Delta Air Lines representative said: "Delta is investigating an inflatable over-wing slide that was retrieved following an aircraft's landing into Boston's Logan Airport. The flight landed without incident and taxied to the gate under its own power."

No one was injured in the incident.
