Weigman bags Miss World crown

Commercial model and TV host Valerie Weigmann was crowned Miss World Philippines 2014 on Sunday night in Manila.

The 24-year old Weigmann, who describes herself in her Facebook account as being of Filipino, German and Danish descent, also won numerous special awards including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Fashion Runway and Best in Long Gown.

Declared runners up in a glittering show at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay were: Lorraine Kendrickson, First Princess; Nelda Ibe, Second Princess; Nicole Donesa, Third Princess; and Rachel Peters, Fourth Princess.

The Eat Bulaga co-host was crowned by reigning Miss World, Filipina-american, Megan Young.
