Iya Villania replaces Pia Guanio as host of 24 Oras’ segment Chika Minute. The announcement was made by GMA-7 public relations through their Twitter account.

Now on her second week hosting the show, Iya admits that she has big shoes to fill but says that she is having fun as the new host of the entertainment segment. “I’m really enjoying it,” she said in an interview. “So far everyone is very supportive, optimistic. Everyone seems to be happy about it.” Prior to receiving the offer to host the show, Iya was not aware she was already being screened for the stint. “I thought I’m just sitting in for Pia Guanio in the show, but it turned out they were choosing,” she recalled.

Iya is currently hosting several shows with the Kapuso network. There’s Taste Buddies, and the Sunday variety show Sunday All Stars. But if her schedule and the right offer comes, she’ll be willing to do a TV series with her home network.
