For the seventh day straight, thick patches of fog covered areas across the UAE on Tuesday, affecting visibility.

The National Centre for Meteorogly (NCM) said the fog formation, which started late on Monday, will continue till 11am on Tuesday. Authorities have warned motorists to drive carefully.

The Abu Dhabi Police announced activation of speed reduction system on major roads in the emirate. Maximum speed limit is 80kmph on roads including Trucks Road (Al Fayah), Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road (Al Wathbah - Al Khatim), Abu Dhabi - Al Ghwaifat road (Abu Al Abyad - Al Ghwaifat), Abu Dhabi - Sweihan road, Maktoum Bin Rashid road (Abu Dhabi – Dubai) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid road (Abu Dhabi - Dubai) until the visibility is restored.

Heavy fog affected visibility on Sharjah’s Maleha Road, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, causing traffic congestion towards Dubai.
