In its latest update for Wednesday, it issued a 'be aware' yellow alert. Parts of the country have already seen light rainfall - mainly in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra and Delma Island.
In its five-day forecast, the authority has predicted rains for the next three days.
For February 25, light rainfall has been forecast over some coastal and Northern areas; while February 26 is likeky to see rains over Eastern and Northern areas. February 27 is likely to bring with it rainfall over Eastern areas and a significant drop in temperature.
