Sharjah Police: Abide by pedestrian traffic lights to safely cross roads at intersections
The Sharjah Police reminded pedestrians to strictly follow traffic lights and refrain from random road crossing at intersections to avoid mishaps.
The operations and controls room monitor of the Sharjah Police shared a short surveillance footage on their Instagram account warning against the dangers of random road crossing.
In the footage, a man pays no heed to pedestrian traffic lights at an intersection in the emirate and crosses the road in spite of oncoming traffic. The designated pedestrian traffic lights at intersections work in coordination with traffic lights to regulate vehicle traffic.
Urging pedestrians to always follow traffic lights at intersections, the Sharjah Police wrote in the post: "
Your commitment to pedestrian traffic lights and not risking your life to cross the road ensures your safety and that of others".
