Overnight rains left multiple streets in Dubai and Sharjah flooded on Sunday. And on the day, all the emirates received moderate to heavy rains. Wadis overflowed in many areas. The lowest temperature recorded was a chilly 10 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman said rains of different intensity will hit the country on Monday and the spell is set to continue till Wednesday. "It will be cloudy. There will be rainfall with lightning and thunder at times over different areas during the daytime. Rain will continue during the night. Moderate to fresh and strong winds with speeds of up to 60kmphr will blow at times over the sea."

"NYU Abu Dhabi can confirm that due to severe weather conditions, some localised flooding occurred on campus and a building has been temporarily evacuated. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. The appropriate response teams are in place and NYUAD community members have been advised to avoid the area until further notice," the university told Khaleej Times in a statement.
