The UAE recorded its lowest temperature yet on Monday morning — a freezing 2.7°C.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the chilly temperature was recorded in the town of Damtha in Al Ain at 7.15am today.

An earlier weather report issued by the center had said the lowest temperature expected for the day was 5°C in the mountains, while the highest temperature expected was 29°C in internal areas.

Al Wathba, Al Khazna, Liwa and some other western areas of Abu Dhabi experienced dense fog formation in the morning, which affected visibility.

The day would be partly cloudy in general. It would also be cloudy at times over the sea, islands and some western coastal areas with chances of light rainfall.
