As dense fog engulfed various parts of the UAE on Tuesday night, authorities had announced the reduction of speed limits on some major roads.
However, in the latest update, Abu Dhabi Police have now stated that speed limits on Abu Dhabi's external roads are back to normal.

The Abu Dhabi Police had announced speed limit reduction on major roads from and towards the Capital to 80kmph. On its official Twitter page, the police said speed reduction system had been activated on Mohammed Bin Rashid road (Abu Dhabi - Dubai), Maktoum Bin Rashid road (Al smeeh - Dubai), AbuDhabi-Al Ain Road, Al Fayah Road (Truck Road) and Abu Dhabi - Sweihan road.
The police also urged drivers to follow the instructions shown on smart information boards installed on various roads and be alert while driving in foggy weather conditions.
The National Centre of Meteorology had issued a 12-hour alert about fog on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday morning, the centre said fog formation mainly concentrated in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra areas.
