UAE weather alert: Dusty conditions reduce visibility
Dubai's RTA offers tips to drive safely amid unfavourable weather conditions.
Dusty weather conditions are affecting visibility in several parts of the country. Fresh winds are kicking up sands and suspended dust, according to the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority are among the entities that issued a dusty weather alert on Saturday, January 23.

Warning that the dusty conditions decrease visibility, the RTA offered tips to drive safely amid unfavourable weather conditions like rains:
>> Check the validity of the brakes, tyres, and headlights of the vehicle before starting the journey.
>> Before driving in the rain, make sure your wipers work well for a safe journey.
>> During the rain, always double the safety distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
>> Drive slowly when it is raining so you can always keep control of your car and not worry about having to stop suddenly behind other vehicles.

>> When driving in the rain, always follow traffic signs and do not instantly press on the accelerator when the traffic light turns green so you do not lose control on the slippery roads.
>> Drive cautiously and carefully at a reduced speed when it’s raining.
>> Do not exceed the speed limit.
>> Do not overtake other vehicles except in ideal conditions.
>> Driving in the rain requires more focus
>> Turn on your headlights and keep a safe space between the vehicle ahead.
