UAE residents thank police for weather warning

The residents received text messages from police forces in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, advising them to "stay indoors due to the bad weather".
The text message alert tone sounded like an alarm that lasted for several seconds.
Residents took to Twitter and other social media to share their experience. "The Abu Dhabi police have pushed an emergency warning to phones due to the severe storm," tweeted @JonoH.
Another user, @DrAlhosban tweeted: Thank you Dubai police for the warning. I hope no one will get hurt."
@DrSheheen tweeted: "Re-ceived a warning alert from both Sharjah and Dubai police of bad weather in the UAE. Must be bad. First time we ever received such types of warning."

As heavy rains lashed on Sunday evening, authorities warned residents and motorists on social media and mobile alerts to take precautionary measures.
