The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Monday afternoon issued a fresh update on the status of the tropical storm in the Arabian Sea.

The storm, at the moment, is moving with a wind speed of 70-85kmph, and is likely to continue westwards with speed of 80-90kmph over the next 48 hours.

This will result in "sea water surge over the Eastern coast with high tide period, especially on Wednesday morning", the NCM said on Twitter.

The storm will not have any direct impact on the UAE, the weather department had said earlier on Monday.
