Temperature dips in UAE; Storm Luban to strengthen in next 24 hours
The storm Luban is likely to deepen into a Category 1 Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours.
It was a foggy morning in the UAE on Wednesday with minimum temperature recorded at 18.2 ░C in Jais Mountain.
"The sky will remain clear but expected to become partly cloudy towards afternoon," the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) said in a statement.
"The relative humidity will increase during the night and early morning, with a probability of fog or mist formation," the NCM said.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 38 - 42░C in the internal areas.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled at 44.4░C in Mezaira at 01:30pm, while the minimum temperature was recorded atá 18.2 ░C in Jais Mountain at 05:45am.
Tropical storm Luban to develop into cyclone
Theá tropical storm named Luban is gaining strength in the Arabian Sea andá expected to make landfall in Oman this week. The storm is likely to deepen into a Category 1 Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours, the Public Authority of Civil Aviationá of Oman said in a report.
The authorities Oman have already issued a list of guidelines for those who live in areas that are likely to be affected by cyclones and tropical storms.
Meanwhile, the UAE's met officials are closely monitoring the Cyclone Luban and will provide updates accordingly.
The NCM announced had announced earlier on Monday excluded the possibility of direct influence on the UAE by a tropical storm in the Arabian Sea in the next four days.
Additionally, the NCM said that the tropical storm is expected to move northwest from the middle of the Arabian Sea towards Oman's coast. The cyclone has wind speeds from 70-80 kmph accompanied by convective clouds associated with rain.
The Met expects that the wind speed will increase up to 100 kmph in the next 24 hours. NCM urged the public to ignore all rumours and wait for official reports and news updates.
