Dubai - Photos and videos tweeted by the UAE weather department show rain and hail pelting multiple areas in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Hail and moderate to heavy rainfall have hit some areas of the UAE on Wednesday. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority took to Twitter to say strong winds also have been reported. The authority urged residents to be "careful" and follow weather updates from official sources.

Photos and videos tweeted by the National Meteorological Centre (NCM) show rain and hail pelting multiple areas in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. A video shows a sheet of hail covering an area in Dubai.

The NCM used #CloudSeeding with videos and photos of the rain.

On Tuesday, Ras Al Khaimah saw a 30-minute downpour, which flooded valleys and created waterfalls on the mountains. Videos of the rain and water gushing down the mountains went viral on social media.
