Light to moderate rains lashed parts of the UAE on Sunday night and continued on Monday morning, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The UAE will experience rainfall for the next five days. The forecast until  Thursday, December 19, says the UAE will witness intermittent rainfall especially over islands, coasts, Eastern and Northern areas with a drop in the temperatures.

The official weather forecast from NCM said: "The country will be affected by an extension of surface low pressure associated with an upper trough from the west, tending to form convective clouds over east and northern areas."

"In addition to which, clouds will move from west toward western UAE and the sea and then extend to scattered areas associated with rainy convective clouds concentrate over islands and some coastal, eastern and northern areas on spaced intervals, with fall of temperatures," the forecaster added.

"Moderate to fresh especially with clouds activity, which is going to blow dust and sand at times over the exposed areas, and it will also cause the sea to be rough over the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea," the forecaster added. UAE will experience a maximum internal temperature of 25 to 29 degree Celsius, and minimum temperatures of 16 to 19 degree Celsius during this time.
Meanwhile, NCM has denied reports of flash floods as the country faces five days of rain. An official with the NCM has denied media reports citing flash floods following five continuous days of rain.
